The Jozani Natural Forest reserve is located in the central east region of Zanzibar island and is a home to the rare Red Columbus monkey, which in endemic to Zanzibar these monkeys are full of character, and roam freely. They can also be seen at close quarters just outside the reserve’s perimeter and incredibly photogenic jozani is home to other syke monkeys, small buck, and bush pigs. Jozani is only open during the day. It has an excellent nature trail, and the guides are well trained and informative.

What to Expect

Walking in the Jozani forest to get the opportunity to visit and explore nature in Zanzibar where we are going to visit the forest with good climatic weather, more importantly, to see the red monkeys that are so friendly, the red monkey they are so special monkeys they have four fingers and no thumb, and on their chest, they are white and on their back, they are all red, and they have allergic only they eat green and young fruits and vegetables. Moreover, will get the opportunity to see some forest species like digidigi, elephant shrew, and camilios. Once we are done visiting the forest we will visit the mangroves area and learn how the mangroves are grown.
